In fall 2020, Dr. Bristin Jones's Nature Writing and the Environment wrote and performed an original Zoom play, The House Off Olive Avenue: Quarantine Voices in the San Joaquín Valley.
The students read Cherríe Moraga’s play Heroes and Saints, and were inspired by its themes of activism and environmental justice, and by a guest lecture from the playwright herself. This was as inspiration for the project. Engaging with COVID, distance learning, the California fires, Black Lives Matter, and the election, it's a true time capsule of this epic year!
